The initial core group consists of five adults, ranging in age from twenties to late forties. Our hope is to grow gradually over several years to a community of 30 to 45, including as wide a range of ages and backgrounds as we can. The community does not have a common religious basis, though individual members may be intensely spiritual.
We are meeting once a week for shared food and a short business meeting. Our decisions are made using a modified consensus process. The group started meeting in January, 2002, and established a formal structure that April. We wish to keep our meetings to a minimum. We will continue to share meals, work and fun to build our relationships with each other.

| Single Female, Born 1964 in Jackson, Michigan. No kids, 1 cat. I've lived in the west since the early '70s and came to Durango in the fall of 2002. My last job of 13 years was a technical support position with a non-profit. I'll currently work pretty much any job to be able to remain in Durango. I prefer independent research to formal schooling, but have taken some college classes. My interests include pretty much any science, animals, the environment, Sci-Fi/Fantasy themed books and videos, social justice, civil rights, dada art, alternative theatre (as a spectator), counter-culture in general, and eating. |
