Main Floor Plans
Our first building is a triplex that consists of a one bedroom apartment, a two bedroom apartment, and a four bedroom apartment designed for house sharing. This building would house between seven and twelve people. There will be sound barriers between living spaces, all units will receive direct south sun, have in floor heat, exposed 6x10 beams in ceiling, bricks on sand flooring, natural plaster interior finish, and super insulated walls and ceiling.

The Unit shown at far left is part of the second building. The first and second buildings are separated by an atrium. Both the atrium and the second building will be built in 2006. (click thumbnails to see larger pictures)
Basement
We will have full basements for our storage needs. A laundry room and mechanical room will also be located here. The water storage shown under the atrium is used in conjunction with the active solar collectors on the roof.
Overall Concept
This is our current plan for the site. The first building is located in the southeast corner. All units will look into the central common area with the common house to the west. The parking is located at the north end of the site.
Detail
This is a trombe wall system design for the South walls of the units. In addition to direct solar gain and in floor heat the trombe wall will supplement our evening heating needs.
